Vegan Family Living

Review of Vegan Family Living Magazine

Vegan Family Living is a monthly magazine for vegan and vegetarian families, or even just families who want to eat more vegetables and whole foods and less fat.

The magazine is edited by a vegan family comprised of a husband and wife team. The husband is a vegan chef and natural healing expert, the wife, a natural living expert and vegan mom. Their kids, who are also vegan, contribute to the publication.

Each issue features editorials with helpful tips for vegan families, especially for those just starting out who need a little guidance. It educates new vegans on how to stock their vegan pantry to ease meal planning.

The issue I reviewed also had some of the editor’s favorite name brand vegan foods, which is especially helpful for those who don’t want to make their family the guinea pigs and possibly waste money on products that don’t taste good.

The magazine contains a number of vegan recipes including ethnic foods, main dishes, sides and salads, beverages, snacks and even desserts (who knew you can make a vegan cheesecake?). The recipes all featured ingredients that can be easily
found at your local grocery store, so you don’t even have to make a trip across town to a health food or specialty shop if you don’t want to.

Each issue features a kid friendly recipe and editorial from the author’s teenaged son, which is a nice touch.

Subscribers to the magazine also have access to a printable Menu Planning Sheet, Grocery Shopping Sheet, and Sample Menu Plan.

I think Vegan Family Living would make a great gift for a vegan friend, or for yourself especially if you’re transitioning to a vegan diet. In fact if you just want to eat more vegetables, this would be a great addition to your cookbook collection or meal planning tools.
